- Currently, there are 47 billion websites – of which there are over 250 million blogs and billions of porn websites. Statistics released by one site provide some insane statistics about how much is consumed worldwide.
- The first spam message sent to multiple recipients for DEC System 2020 – the person was selling computer. The 600 recipients were not pleased to receive it.
- Approximately one-third of Italians, 9 Million adults in Britain and one third of Indian population have never used the internet. Imagine that! While there are treatment camps for internet addicts in China.
- World’s First website still looks how it used to look 29 years back. It doesn’t come close to being glamorous because all that’s present is text and hyperlinks but the fact that it is still running is pretty impressive
- As per the statistics of January 2017, there are approximately 4,200 new domain names registered every hour, or around 37 million per year.
- Currently, there are 4 billion Internet users worldwide, which accounts for almost 47 percent of the global population. Close to half (48%) of all Internet users are in Asia. The other half are drivers in traffic jams.
- There are 1.59 billion households worldwide with a television – but over 2 billion people access the Internet from a handheld device. Seriously, time is changing.
- “Gangnam Style” by Psy is still the most viewed YouTube video of all time. It’s been viewed over two billion times.
- A single Google query uses 1,000 computers in 0.2 seconds to retrieve an answer.
- Twenty hours of video from around the world are uploaded to YouTube every minute. The first ever YouTube video was uploaded on April 23rd 2005, by Jawed Karim and was 18 seconds long, entitled “Me at the zoo”. Jawed was one of the co-founders of YouTube. It was quite boring, as is 99% of the content on YouTube today.
- Speaking of search – Between 16-20% Google searches every day have never been searched. That’s ingenuity! And one THIRD of all Internet searches are specifically for pornography. It is estimated that 80% of all images on the Internet are of naked women.
